Audit reveals Dem's COVID relief mismanagement
The article reports that records reveal Rep. Jared Moskowitz, former director of Florida's Division of Emergency Management, oversaw over $1.2 billion in COVID-19 relief funds during 2020-2021 without sufficient oversight, as flagged in an audit. The audit criticized the department for not monitoring subrecipient activities or reviewing financial reports, raising concerns about oversight of federal funds. Moskowitz, who resigned before the end of the fiscal year, faces criticism from Republican opponent Scott Singer, who highlights past allegations of self-dealing and oversight lapses related to disaster recovery funds. Moskowitz defends his record, noting positive assessments from officials and his reappointment by a Republican governor. The controversy is part of his campaign for re-election in a competitive district.
