Congo starts Ebola vaccine for health workers
Congo has begun vaccinating healthcare workers in Bunia against Ebola amid the country's deadliest outbreak, caused by the Bundibugyo virus. The vaccination rollout targets frontline staff in the hardest-hit areas, using the Ervebo vaccine, which has shown effectiveness against related Ebola strains but is still under evaluation for this outbreak. As of now, there are over 7,500 confirmed cases and nearly 3,600 deaths, with the outbreak surpassing previous Ebola crises in severity.
