Restaurant chain shrinks to 87 locations
Friendly's, a long-standing American restaurant chain known for ice cream and family-friendly dining, has significantly declined from its peak of about 850 locations to fewer than 100. Despite recent closures, experts believe the brand's strong legacy and nostalgia can help revitalize it if modernized to meet current consumer preferences. The company has faced financial struggles, filing for bankruptcy twice, but efforts to reinvent and adapt its menu with healthier options may attract new customers while leveraging its nostalgic appeal.
