Ukraine detains teen over soldier poisonings

The Ukrainian police have detained a 17-year-old girl in the Gytomyr region west of Kyiv on charges of conspiring to poison Ukrainian soldiers for Russia, which resulted in the deaths of two military personnel. According to investigations, the girl was sending, via Telegram, drug-laced materials containing lethal doses of methadone, under the direction of the Russian Federal Security Service. She was promised approximately $112 in exchange for her actions and faced the possibility of up to 15 years in prison for charges related to premeditated murder and conspiracy with a foreign entity. Ukrainian forces managed to save four other soldiers; however, two of them died from drug overdose. These operations occur amid mutual accusations between Ukraine and Russia of involvement in sabotage activities, including the recruitment of minors.
