Qatar Energy Approves 4M Tons US LNG

Qatar Energy has signed two long-term agreements with the American company Chener Energy to purchase up to 4 million tons of liquefied natural gas annually, starting in 2031 and continuing until 2054. The agreements aim to secure gas from the Sabine Pass facilities in Louisiana and the Corpus Christi facilities in Texas, with Qatar Energy responsible for shipping from the U.S. ports. These agreements reflect confidence in the future role of liquefied natural gas within the global energy mix and enable the development of a more diverse and competitive international portfolio.
