Macron prohibits non-union protests in France

French President Emmanuel Macron announced a ban on non-union protests in France as part of heightened security measures following acts of violence and looting during the "Yellow Vest" protests on October 17. Allowed demonstrations will be limited to those organized by unions, with their routes reviewed and altered to serve as alternatives in order to avoid risks to workplaces and public order. Officials confirmed that this measure is legally justified and aims to protect facilities and prevent violence, especially in light of escalating protests and tensions in several French cities.
