Baghdad minimizes effects of Hormuz cable cut

Iraqi Minister of Communications Mustafa Sandi confirmed that Iraq has alternative international outlets that ensure the stability of internet services, with approximately 11 border crossings, including six with Iran. This enhances the country's flexibility as a hub for internet traffic in case of submarine cable cuts or the Strait of Hormuz closure. He also indicated that there is no ban on the "Vize" application and that local efforts are underway to develop alternative mapping apps aimed at reducing reliance on the Israeli application. While Iran has threatened to strike submarine cables if they are attacked, Qatar has warned that cutting off the internet would harm all countries in the region.
