The article focused on the criticisms directed at the American President Donald Trump's envoy, Steve Witekoff, after he described Russian President Vladimir Putin as "humane" during their meeting in Saint Petersburg, despite the bloody war Putin is waging against Ukraine. These comments come in the context of efforts to restart trilateral talks between Russia, Ukraine, and the United States to end the conflict, while Trump's stance on Ukraine faces increased scrutiny from the public and political debates.
