Germany shifts stance on China
The German stance toward China has shifted due to a decline in its exports to the Chinese market, decreasing by over 54% between 2022 and 2025. This decline is attributed to China's technological advancements and the growing strength of its automotive and mechanical industries. In response, the European Union has called for the establishment of a mechanism to exclude unfair partners from the market, while Beijing has threatened to escalate measures if additional protective plans are signed. German concerns over potential restrictions on the export of rare metals have also increased. These policies are expected to impact car sales and reduce Chinese exports to Europe, which is a major export market for China.
