DeepSec sparks US-China Tensions
China affirmed that it has the right to protect the interests of its companies, in response to the U.S. Department of Homeland Security's instructions to remove products from the Chinese AI company Deep AI from its systems. This comes amid renewed tensions between Washington and Beijing over restrictions on Chinese technology. The Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesperson indicated that China opposes the overextension of the concept of national security and the politicization of science and technology issues. This escalation reflects a rise in technological and economic disputes between the two countries, against the backdrop of increasing U.S. restrictions on Chinese companies operating in the field of artificial intelligence.
