Drone attack kills dozens on Sudan South Sudan border

A market in the disputed Abyei area between Sudan and South Sudan was targeted by drones, resulting in the death of about 73 people and injuries to 19 others, according to Abyei's Minister of Media, who accused the Sudanese army of carrying out the attack without providing any evidence. The region, which is rich in oil, has experienced frequent clashes between ethnic groups and armed factions, as well as ongoing tensions between Sudan and South Sudan. The security situation has deteriorated due to the ongoing conflict in Sudan since April 2023, leading to widespread destruction and a severe humanitarian crisis.
