Gaza families ask Netanyahu to respect hostages

The families of Israeli hostages—who were kidnapped during Hamas's attack in October 2023 and were executed while in captivity—sent a message to Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu criticizing his repeated statements about the goal of retrieving all the hostages. The families expressed that such rhetoric blurs the line between those who returned alive and those whose final moments were as corpses in coffins. They accuse Netanyahu of attempting to exploit their loved ones' deaths politically and hold him responsible for failures in managing the crisis. The message was signed by 40 hostages, including 17 who opposed using their case for electoral campaigns, demanding that their deaths not be exploited for political gains or used as a means to evade responsibility.
