Understanding biological weapons risks

The use of artificial intelligence in the development of biological weapons has become an increasing source of concern, as it can be used to analyze and modify pathogenic agents accurately and rapidly, raising the risk of misuse for developing deadly weapons that are legally prohibited internationally. Experts indicate that modern biotechnologies, despite being used for medical and preventive purposes, carry significant risks if employed for offensive purposes. There have been past attempts to fund research that could be used to manufacture biological weapons, and international oversight of these weapons remains insufficient due to the nature of the research and the various civilian applications of the same elements.
