Sudan experienced a deadly military escalation using drones, resulting in the death of 80 civilians in West Kordofan at a public stop, and four others near Khartoum Airport, including three children. The bombing targeted civilian areas and vital facilities, destroying the Mijlid Market and commercial camps. The Sudanese army confirmed that it intercepted drones belonging to the militia that were targeting Khartoum. This escalation comes amid ongoing clashes between the army and Rapid Support Forces since April 2023, which have led to the death of tens of thousands and the displacement of about 13 million people, amidst a worsening humanitarian crisis in the country.
