Debate over Grand Sheikh's Mediation Call

The invitation by Al-Azhar's Sheikh Dr. Ahmed Al-Tayeb to form a mediation committee between the warring parties to contain regional conflicts has sparked wide debate. Al-Tayeb called for establishing a committee composed of wise and prudent figures from Arab and Islamic countries to halt hostilities, bridge differences, and end disputes, with Al-Azhar ready to support these efforts aimed at saving lives and achieving peace. The initiative received backing from religious and political figures, who see it as a necessary step to reduce human and economic losses in the region. However, opponents expressed concerns about neglecting the role of Iran and the financially supporting parties involved in the conflicts, emphasizing the need to hold aggressors accountable before any reconciliation can be achieved.
