Maariv: Trump watched Netanyahu's campaign before endorsing

According to press reports, Trump was awaiting the results of internal polls that showed Netanyahu had a genuine chance of winning the Israeli elections. This led him to delay his public support for Netanyahu by ten days before the election. Netanyahu had previously affirmed that Israel acts independently in its security policies, especially regarding Iran, and that he seeks to strengthen international alliances despite disagreements with Trump over Turkish President Erdogan. While Trump is monitoring the election results and fears risks to his interests, he decided to support Netanyahu after polls showed significant gains for the Israeli right-wing, reflecting Washington's desire to maintain a strong and flexible ally ahead of the U.S. midterm elections.
