Trump backs Netanyahu; Eisenkot opposes interference

U.S. President Donald Trump expressed his full support for Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu in the upcoming parliamentary elections scheduled for October 27, 2023, considering him a strong and intelligent leader in facing opposition. Netanyahu responded to Trump's support and thanked him, while his rival Gadi Eizenkot stated that Israel alone chooses its leaders, emphasizing that the elections will determine whether Netanyahu continues in power or is replaced. The atmosphere is tense, marked by a significant escalation of military operations following Hamas's attack and the outbreak of war in Gaza and Lebanon.
