West Bank settlers attack village injure journalist

A group of extremist Israeli settlers launched a violent attack on Palestinians while they were harvesting olives in the Abu Falah village near Ramallah in the West Bank. They set olive trees on fire and hurled stones, resulting in injuries to two people, including a female journalist. The attack focused on the annual harvest season and represents an escalation in violence, which has exceeded 170 incidents since the start of the harvest in September. There has been a rise in the settlers’ boldness, despite the Israeli government not taking decisive measures, even as international condemnation grows. The assault follows similar incidents and was characterized by settlers using tear gas and firing weapons in the area, amid a heavy Israeli military presence. The West Bank is home to approximately 500,000 settlers. The Israeli occupation of Palestinian territories is considered illegal under international law, and tensions continue to escalate due to the expansion of settlements and ongoing attacks.
