Shifounik Reaches QF with 150th Win

Polish tennis player Iga Swiatek has advanced to the quarterfinals of the Wuhan tournament for the second consecutive time, following her victory over American Ashleigh Bunge with scores of 6-1 and 6-4. This marks her 150th win in WTA 1000 events, making her one of only three players to achieve this feat within her first 50 appearances in this category of tournaments. Swiatek is aiming for her 13th title at a WTA 1000 event and needs to win to boost her chances of qualifying for the WTA Finals next month. She will face the winner between American An Li and Indonesian Jani Tetian in the quarterfinals, amidst a limited participation of top-ranked players after many of them were knocked out early, including Aryna Sabalenka and Jessica Pegula.
