Videos allegedly showing supporters of the "Insaf Movement" Party led by Imran Khan besieging the residence of the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa provincial governor in Pakistan have circulated on social media. These visuals coincided with protests that included acts of rioting and the declaration of a state of emergency in the region. However, it has been confirmed that these footage are old and were posted a year before the current protests. They actually depict the storming of the Nepalese Parliament building, not a Pakistani location. Verification shows the site matches Kathmandu, the capital of Nepal, rather than Khyber. The actual events reveal that tensions in Khyber region are related to the imposition of a state of emergency and the federal government’s control over the area. Supporters of Imran Khan are protesting in this context, and there is no basis for the claims of a recent siege of the governor’s residence, as the videos have falsely suggested.
