Black Sea ships catch fire, sailors missing

Cargo ships in the Black Sea near the coasts of Romania and Bulgaria have been subjected to drone attacks over the past ten days, leading to fires and the loss of 23 sailors. Romanian authorities clarified that some of these ships were waiting to pass through the Sulina branch of the Danube River, and that the attacks occurred after Russian drones entered the country's airspace. However, there has not yet been an official confirmation linking these attacks to Russian drones. These incidents raise concerns about their impact on shipping traffic, as they are connected to risks to global grain supplies resulting from the Russian-Ukrainian war, amid European discussions on measures to prevent the targeting of civilian vessels in the region.
