Iranian military: Hormuz closed, oil not passing

An Iranian military official confirmed that the Strait of Hormuz is completely closed, and that any passage through it requires prior coordination, with full control and surveillance of the area by the Iranian armed forces. He pointed out that the Iranian Revolutionary Guard Navy is present in the western part of the strait, while the Islamic Republic Army operates in the eastern part and as far as the Gulf of Oman, to ensure continuous control. He explained that closing the strait prevents oil transit and leads to rising fuel prices, emphasizing that any unlicensed crossing will be met with a decisive response. Additionally, Iran announced that a cargo ship collided with a naval mine in the southern part of the strait and sank; the vessel was carrying over 2,500 containers. Iran warned local ships and fishermen to avoid colliding with floating debris.
