Egypt considers fees for divorce and remarriage

An Egyptian bill proposes establishing a "Family Support Fund" by imposing fees on marriage and divorce transactions, legal attestations, and other related procedures, with the aim of providing financial resources to support families unable to claim their rights. The fees include 1,000 Egyptian pounds for each case, up to 5,000 pounds in cases of marriage in the marriage of a woman already married, as well as fees on students, club memberships, notarizations, and more. The fund seeks to assist families facing difficulties in collecting their financial entitlements, especially women for whom the maintenance amounts are insufficient to support them, while emphasizing the importance of streamlining legal procedures to ensure families' rights are secured more quickly and effectively.
