Kosovo News Agency confirmed that Kosovo's new President, Jostina Shiroka Pula, who was recently elected, is the third woman to assume the presidency of the country, which declared its independence unilaterally from Serbia in 2008. She was elected by the Kosovo Parliament with the support of 81 out of 120 deputies, following the term of her predecessor Vjosa Osmani. Shiroka Pula, aged 73, was the President of the Academy of Sciences and Arts and has extensive experience in economics, having served as Minister of Energy and Mining and as a member of Parliament. Kosovo leaders aim to strengthen the country’s stability and develop international relations, relying on her experience in both academia and politics.
