Trump: Russia and Ukraine seek deal but struggle to find way

The article focused on statements made by U.S. President Donald Trump regarding the war in Ukraine, where he emphasized that the conflict is a "disaster" and requires an urgent settlement. He explained that both Russia and Ukraine are violating the ceasefire, and that Moscow and Kyiv see the need to reach an agreement, but lack the means to achieve it. He pointed out that Russian President Vladimir Putin is willing to reach a deal, while Zelensky needs to be convinced to agree. Trump also stressed the importance of Zelensky focusing on finding a solution to end the war, rather than discussing the diesel agreement between Washington and Moscow, amid rising disagreements over Trump's announcement to halt targeting energy facilities. Zelensky denied knowing about this and indicated that Russian strikes on Ukrainian power stations continued even after the announcement. The war has been ongoing since February 2022, amid escalating airstrikes and diminishing prospects for imminent negotiations.
