Cairo Film Fest plans Shadia poster update
The Cairo International Film Festival management is preparing to modify the official design of the 47th edition poster following widespread criticism regarding the use of artificial intelligence techniques in creating the image of the late actress Shadia, which did not accurately reflect her true features. The public and followers expressed their dissatisfaction and submitted alternative designs that more closely depict Shadia's real appearance. The actress's family also voiced their disapproval of the current design. Festival President Hussein Fahmy emphasized the importance of using artificial intelligence as a future technology, focusing on supporting the restoration of old films and preserving cinematic heritage. The poster will be revised to present a more accurate and respectful representation of Shadia’s features.
