Deir Ezzor Suffocation from Dust Storm

The dust storm that hit the eastern regions of Syria caused over 271 cases of suffocation in Deir ez-Zor Governorate, leading to the suspension of classes in all schools across the province to ensure the safety of students and staff. The area also experienced significant pressure on hospitals and healthcare centers due to respiratory difficulties resulting from the storm, in addition to the thick dust that covered large parts of the eastern provinces. Meanwhile, mountainous areas in the Syrian coast experienced a strong hailstorm that caused extensive damage to agricultural crops. Authorities have warned of severe weather fluctuations, including heavy rains, thunderstorms, and reduced visibility, calling on residents to exercise caution and follow safety procedures during storms and bad weather conditions.
