Islamabad blocks roads with containers to restrict Imran Khan's supporters
The Pakistani government is moving to escalate its measures against supporters of Imran Khan, as shipping containers have been used to block roads in front of protesters in Islamabad, aiming to prevent them from advancing toward the government district. This comes amid the declaration of a state of emergency in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and the suspension of the provincial government's operations, following unsuccessful negotiations between the government and Khan's supporters, who are currently serving jail time and claim he is a political prisoner. These measures are part of an escalating series of protests amid rising tensions between the movement and the Pakistani authorities.
