U.S. State Department denies Iran funding to Hezbollah

The U.S. State Department confirmed that Hezbollah has not received $200 million from Iran to assist Lebanese displaced persons, despite reports last month suggesting the group received that amount. The department’s spokesperson clarified that Hezbollah is using its funds for terrorist activities rather than aiding Lebanese citizens, and that Iran is not concerned with the suffering of its people but has isolated itself from the international financial system due to sanctions. The spokesperson urged Hezbollah to disarm and cut its ties with Tehran, emphasizing that the United States supports the Lebanese government and is working to raise billions of dollars to aid reconstruction and promote stability.
