UAE Economy Hits 962 Billion Dirhams
The UAE economy faced challenges during the first half of 2026, with the real gross domestic product (GDP) reaching 961.9 billion dirhams, recording a slight growth of 0.4% compared to the same period last year. Non-oil sectors accounted for approximately 79.2% of the economy, up from 78.1% in the previous year, led by financial and insurance activities, which grew by 14.8%. Despite a 2.1% decline in GDP during the second quarter, the performance of sectors such as trade, transportation, and tourism was affected by regional conditions, while growth in non-oil activities continued, driven by trade and finance.
