US intercepts 90 fuel supplies to Cuba

Under the assumption of the American oil embargo on Cuba, the U.S. authorities announced the interception of 90 fuel shipments valued at approximately $3 million that were headed to the island. These shipments are directed toward the Cuban company "Intek," which has been under sanctions since July. Seventy-one of these shipments were detected at the Port of Everglades in Florida, with the remaining shipments in Houston. Washington views these operations as an attempt to evade sanctions through entities under its control. This blockade is part of the sanctions imposed by the Trump administration since January 2025, aimed at increasing pressure on Cuba, which is suffering from a severe energy crisis due to sanctions and economic decline.
