Al-Houthi Discusses Mecca Alliance and Gulf Tensions
Abdulmalik al-Houthi, the leader of the Iran-backed Houthi movement in Yemen, expressed his rejection and reservations regarding the Mecca Defense Alliance, which includes Saudi Arabia, Turkey, and Pakistan. He described it as an attempt by Riyadh to involve Ankara and Islamabad in the Yemeni conflict. Al-Houthi criticized the Saudi military operations, claiming they kill children and women without providing evidence. He called on the peoples of Turkey and Pakistan not to participate in the aggression against Yemen. He also emphasized that there are noble positions and opposition within Turkey and Pakistan against their forces’ involvement in the Yemeni conflict, considering that the agreement among the three countries aims at mutual deterrence against any attack and the development of military cooperation.
