Bloomberg: Employee error exposes F-35 data

China managed to steal sensitive parts of the American stealth fighter F-35, following a mistake by an employee at the shipping company UPS who failed to route the shipment through Hong Kong. This resulted in the loss of critical components such as the cockpit canopy and the weapon bay door coated with radar-absorbing materials. The parts were being transported from Australia to the United States for repairs, but the shipment was mistakenly directed through Hong Kong for faster delivery. This has sparked official investigations and caused embarrassment for the U.S. Department of Defense and Lockheed Martin. Experts added that China may attempt reverse engineering of the parts, threatening the aircraft's capabilities and raising concerns among American lawmakers about the security of strategic weapon supply chains.
