Al-Waziah vital for Yemen coast security

The "Fajr Yemen" operation, launched by the Yemeni government forces three days ago, aims to recapture areas controlled by the Houthis along the western coast. The focus is on securing supply routes and gaining control of strategic highlands, especially in the Al-Wazi’iyah District west of Taiz. The forces have made progress by capturing important hills and conducting precise airstrikes against Houthi positions, resulting in several militant deaths, captures, and military losses within the group. The operations are primarily aimed at preventing the Houthis from launching surprise attacks or blocking supply routes, as well as securing the highlands that ensure stability and reduce the group's maneuvering capabilities. These efforts are part of the government’s broader strategy to regain control of the coast and strengthen security in critical areas in the face of advancing forces supported by the coalition led by Saudi Arabia.
