Houthi attacks on Aden Airport

In recent hours, Yemen has witnessed a military escalation by the Houthis, who targeted Aden International Airport with two ballistic missiles and several armed drones. This nearly endangered an upcoming civilian flight that was about to land. The attack represents a serious escalation that violates international law and threatens aviation safety, as it resulted in the cancellation of a flight arriving from Cairo and its rerouting to Jeddah, in addition to the evacuation of the two planes at the airport. The Houthi shelling in Taiz also injured five civilians amidst the ongoing military operations in the area, raising concerns about the impact of this attack on civilian lives and aviation safety. International and human rights organizations condemned the attacks, calling on the international community to take measures to protect civilian infrastructure and air travel.
