WHO assists Kenya in Ebola containment

The World Health Organization announced its support for Kenya in containing Ebola after the first imported case was recorded in Nairobi. The patient, who died in a hospital, was a Kenyan residing in the Democratic Republic of Congo for seven years. The organization confirmed that the measures include intensified surveillance, screening at entry points, training response teams, and equipping isolation units, as well as providing testing kits and protective gear. These efforts aim for early detection and to prevent the spread of the virus. So far, the organization does not recommend imposing travel or trade restrictions with the affected countries and is working to enhance a rapid response to prevent a larger potential outbreak.
