Russia warns Lithuania on NATO bases

Russia warns that establishing a military base and nuclear weapons for NATO in Lithuania will lead to an escalation of tensions in Europe, emphasizing that such steps will not promote regional stability. This comes after the Lithuanian parliament approved a constitutional amendment lifting the ban on deploying weapons of mass destruction, paving the way for NATO nuclear weapons to be stationed in the country, with the final vote scheduled for January 12, 2027. If this occurs, Russia will have to take measures to ensure its national security.
