South Lebanon stability discussion upcoming

The article discusses the developments in the southern Lebanon file following the preparations for the upcoming negotiations between Lebanon and Israel in Tampa, focusing on the military and security aspects of the current phase. Sources indicate that the emphasis on the military side is aimed at addressing unresolved field issues such as halting dredging, Israeli withdrawal, demolition operations, and the return of residents—rather than transitioning to full military control. It is affirmed that negotiations continue along both political and military tracks, with the American role primarily concentrated on pressuring Israel. Additionally, it is emphasized that the Lebanese army operates in accordance with the decisions of the political authority, and that what is happening does not represent a move toward an independent military track, although the locations of meetings may suggest a military character. The current approach reflects an attempt to achieve security stability on the ground before advancing on other issues.
