West Bank Tensions and Palestinian Prisoner Deaths
The article discusses the Israeli escalation in the West Bank, where Israeli Defense Minister Yisrael Katz stated that the government is preparing for a broad offensive involving killings, displacement, and destruction of infrastructure similar to what occurred in Gaza and Lebanon, should attacks against occupation forces and settlers escalate. Katz confirmed that the planned scenario includes a short and intense campaign featuring the elimination of prominent figures, the destruction of weapons, and the evacuation of civilians, with aerial and ground operations, to reinforce control and dismantle terrorist infrastructure within the region. He also noted that the Israeli army is currently conducting operations in refugee camps, while reports indicate that 92 Palestinian prisoners have been killed in Israeli prisons since the start of the war on Gaza, and over 26,000 Palestinians have been detained in the West Bank, amid ongoing increases in assaults on Palestinians and their holy sites.
