Canada political shift as Quebec separatists regain power
The separatist Parti Québécois has won the Quebec provincial elections, returning to power and promising to hold a new referendum on independence, despite experts estimating that support for separation remains below 30%. The party pledged to hold the referendum following the departure of former U.S. President Donald Trump. This victory comes after eight years of governance by the Quebec Future Coalition and has implications for Quebec's future within Canada. It coincides with a potential vote in Alberta on secession, scheduled to take place within two weeks.
