De La Fuente limits Yamal's Spain playing time
Coach Luis de la Fuente warned of a strong reaction from the Croatia national team when facing Spain in the UEFA Nations League, emphasizing that Croatia’s heavy 0-7 loss to England does not reflect the true gap between the two teams, and that Croatia remains one of the strong teams. He also highlighted the importance of managing player load during matches, with a maximum of 270 minutes per player, to ensure balanced performance and prevent injuries. Spain enters the match as the group leader with 9 points and needs just one point to secure qualification for the quarter-finals. The team prepares for a game considered an opportunity to extend their unbeaten streak to more than 41 matches. The coach confirmed that Croatia’s recent results do not reflect their true level, and praised the expected enthusiastic atmosphere in Split, considering the match important and personally significant for several players, especially Dani Olmo. He also opposed the new tournament system, which involves four matches in a short period, but assured that the team is ready and working on appropriate distribution of minutes to ensure optimal performance.
