Researchers create high-efficiency EV wireless charger

Researchers from Chinese and British institutions have developed a highly efficient wireless charging system with an efficiency exceeding 98.5% for new energy vehicles. Based on a nanometallic composite, it addresses challenges related to efficiency, energy density, and thermal stability. This system, measuring 440 mm in length and 330 mm in width, enables automatic charging of autonomous vehicles, rail transport, and low-altitude aircraft without human intervention, supporting power levels up to 20 kW. Performance is expected to be further improved and its efficiency increased, marking an important step toward achieving continuous and optimal wireless charging for smart vehicles in the future.
