Rayi Rani, a 19-year-old activist, led the high school protests in France and has become one of the most prominent figures associated with the wave of demonstrations and the closure of secondary schools, demanding improvements in studying conditions. Rani, who heads the Secondary School Students' Union, advocates for addressing school overcrowding, compensating absent teachers, renovating school buildings, and tackling the impacts of climate change on educational institutions. His personal background—growing up in a low-income family and losing his mother last January—has brought him closer to the struggles faced by impoverished families. Although he emphasizes that he does not belong to any political party, his activism includes leftist activities, and he has received racist threats following increased media visibility. Rani continues to lead protests that represent the voice of youth and their rights in facing educational and economic challenges in France.
