Hind Nizar Discusses Stepmother Abuse
Hind Nizar, the Iraqi artist, reveals a painful incident from her childhood involving her stepmother. Her stepmother refused to allow her to get close to her mother during visits, leaving a deep impact on both her and her mother. She explained that the situation began when her mother came to visit her, but her stepmother prevented them from communicating directly or being together, which caused her feelings of fear and pain—especially when she heard her say to her stepmother that she would return, an event that deeply hurt her mother as well. Despite the pain, Hind chose to forgive, but the memory of that scene continues to affect her to this day.
