Iran outlines new Strait of Hormuz bill

The article focused on a new Iranian bill aimed at managing the Strait of Hormuz. The bill includes imposing restrictions on the passage of hostile ships and vessels belonging to countries participating in the war against Iran, especially Israeli ships. The law stipulates the cancellation of previous regulations and aims to protect the strait from ships conducting military operations or affiliated with the Zionist entity. It also requires special permits for non-hostile vessels. Additionally, the bill emphasizes naming the Persian Gulf as the "Persian Gulf" and affirms that Iran will manage the strait while considering environmental and related costs. This comes amid Iran’s escalation of a series of measures, including the addition of a new Iranian agency overseeing ship transits to U.S. sanctions, with the goal of controlling passage through the strait and reducing the influence of hostile countries, amid regional and international tensions over the continued freedom of navigation through the Strait of Hormuz.
