Sheikhs finalize transfer to new Egyptian capital

The Egyptian legislative authority, represented by the Senate, has moved to its new headquarters in the New Administrative Capital. This step aims to enhance its legislative performance and develop work mechanisms, especially as other government institutions, including the Parliament and Cabinet, are also relocating there to support interaction between the legislative and executive branches. This move symbolizes a new chapter of modernization and development in Egyptian political life. The previous headquarters of the Council in downtown Cairo had a history spanning over a century and a half, and this transition marks the beginning of a new phase for the Council, which is one of the key pillars of the Egyptian Constitution. The modern new premises are designed to improve the working environment by utilizing advanced technologies such as electronic voting and live broadcasting of sessions, thereby strengthening oversight and legislation, with a focus on providing better services to citizens.
