Who Attacks Syria’s Energy Lines
The article reveals a deliberate targeting of Syria's energy infrastructure, particularly the gas and electricity lines, through successive bombings and attacks aimed at disrupting energy supplies and impacting the lives of citizens and the economy. Analyses indicate that these assaults are not random but planned by multiple entities, including local cells such as ISIS, cells linked to Iran and Hezbollah, as well as internal and external parties seeking to destabilize the Syrian government and undermine its stability. Reports confirm that recent incidents have led to the shutdown of power plants and energy transmission lines, fostering hypotheses about external messages being conveyed—especially regarding the threat to Syrian energy security—amid discussions of overlaps between these attacks and Syria’s plans to develop its energy sector and increase investments.
