Aṣīla Forum awards Iraqi and Moroccan poets

The Iraqi poet Zain Al-Abidine Al-Murshidi and the Moroccan poet Abu Bakr Almiliti jointly won the Balad Al-Haidari Prize for Young Arab Poets in its eighth edition, in recognition of their poetic excellence and creativity. The committee selected their works from approximately 16 participants from various Arab countries, emphasizing diversity in styles and poetic imagery. The report noted that Al-Murshidi possesses skill in blending different poetic forms and employs irony to reconsider the world, while Almiliti has proven success in transforming everyday details into genuine poetry through brief sentences and truncated expressions. The Balad Al-Haidari Prize, which was launched in 1996, honors the most prominent emerging voices in Arab poetry. The award ceremony will be held on October 17th as part of the activities of the International “Aṣīla” Cultural Season.
