Egypt frees eight detained sailors

The Egyptian Ministry of Foreign Affairs announced the release of the eight Egyptian sailors abducted in Somalia since May, aboard a ship in the Puntland region. The release came after intensive diplomatic efforts, under the directives of President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi, and in coordination with Somali and Yemeni officials. The sailors received care from the Egyptian Embassy in Mogadishu, and their return to Egypt was facilitated through the nearest flight.
