Iran medicine prices climb amid sanctions
Iran is experiencing a sharp increase in medication prices due to U.S. sanctions and the blockade, with prices for some drugs rising by more than three times. This escalation worsens patients' suffering and leads to shortages in pharmacies, despite more than 80% of medications being available locally. Import restrictions, disruptions to maritime and air shipping routes, and damage to pharmaceutical factories caused by airstrikes have all exacerbated the health and economic crisis. The national currency continues to decline, and inflation has worsened, posing significant challenges to Iran's healthcare and economic systems.
